Cancer Care for Saint John Pets
Unfortunately, cancer is a disease that can affect both pets and people - even the healthiest individuals. The good news is that many cancers can be managed with a number of methods.
At our animal hospital in Saint John, our veterinarians are dedicated to giving pets with cancer the level of care that they need as well as providing support for the owners that love them.
After reviewing your pet’s medical history and diagnosis we will sit down with you and your pet to discuss the disease, staging (additional diagnostics), treatment options and prognosis.
Staging (Additional Diagnostics)
After the initial diagnosis of cancer in your pet, additional diagnostic testing will be able to help optimize your dog or cat's options for treatment and create a prediction of their prognosis based on underlying factors.
At Avenue Animal Hospital, we offer in-house diagnostics in support of our commitment to quality care for each and every one of our veterinary patients.
Treatment Options
When staging has been completed, our veterinary team will speak with you about each of your pet's appropriate treatment options.
Cancer can be manageable with a variety different therapies (or combinations of treatments) including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies or palliative care when appropriate.
